PERSONNEL:
$corpio (Chris Connelly) - big bass drum, vocals
Alien Dog Star (Al Jourgensen) - pan flute, finger cymbals (keyboards, etc.)
Frenchie L'Amour (Paul Barker) - spanish guitars (most likely
bass and/or keyboards)
This single was originally released in 1989, and featured Chris Connelly doing vocals on both tracks. "My Favorite Things" developed out of an unreleased Ministry song demo from 1986 called "I See Red". The lyrics changed, but the bassline and much of the music was exactly the same.
"Recorded a few months prior to "The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste", it seemed that, at the time, Al, Paul [Barker], and I would get together a couple of nights a week and do something--ostensibly for Ministry or the Cocks--but sometimes things just went off in a strange direction. Listening back to this makes me laugh; it's a really brazen disco song, in an Eighties gay-bar sort of way."
--Chris Connelly on "Rubber Glove Seduction", from "Initials C.C." liner notes, November 15, 2002
The track "Rubber Glove Seduction" was included on the retrospective WaxTrax! Black Box 3xCD set in 1994. Despite popular misinformation, neither of these two tracks appeared in the RoboCop movie--it was actually "Show Me Your Spine" that did.
In 2004, Rykodisc released Ministry's "Side Trax" CD, which included both tracks from "Rubber Glove Seduction", as well as the previously unreleased "Show Me Your Spine".
The chattering at the beginning of "Rubber Glove Seduction" is actually a sped-up vocal sample. When slowed down, it says "Freeze! This is the police. Drop your weapons and place your hands above your head!"
